Frequently Asked Questions
What is Calmacular?
Calmacular is a fitness, nutrition, workout, activity-tracking, and progress-management application.
It is designed to bring together information such as food intake, calories, macronutrients, body weight, workouts, strength training, cardio, steps, activity, fitness goals, workout programs, mesocycles, and progress history.
Calmacular is built around the idea that fitness progress should be evaluated over time rather than treating every meal, workout, day, or weigh-in as an isolated event.
How are my calorie goals calculated?
Calmacular may use information such as your body measurements, body weight, fitness goal, weight-change goal, nutrition settings, activity information, weight history, and other relevant application settings to calculate estimated calorie targets.
These calculations are estimates and may change as your information, activity, progress, settings, or goals change.
Why can my calorie target change during the week?
Calmacular can use weekly calorie planning rather than treating every day as completely independent.
Completed days can be considered using the food you actually logged, while the remaining calorie and macronutrient budget can be distributed across the remaining days.
Because of this, eating more or less than planned on an earlier day may affect the targets shown for later days.
Activity information and other supported settings may also affect nutrition calculations where applicable.
Do all days have to use the same calorie target?
No.
Calmacular is designed to allow nutrition planning across a week rather than requiring seven identical days.
Depending on your settings, different days may have different calorie targets while still contributing to the same overall weekly goal.
Does Calmacular support cutting, maintaining, and gaining weight?
Yes. Calmacular is designed to support goals that may include:
- Weight loss
- Weight maintenance
- Weight gain
The calculations shown by the app depend on your selected goals, settings, available history, and other information used by the applicable feature.
Why does my body weight change even when I follow my calorie target?
Scale weight does not represent body-fat change alone.
Daily body weight can change because of factors such as:
- Hydration
- Sodium intake
- Carbohydrate and glycogen levels
- Food and digestive contents
- Bowel movements
- Exercise
- Training-related inflammation
- Normal day-to-day physiological variation
For this reason, Calmacular is designed to help evaluate body-weight trends over time rather than relying only on one weigh-in.
Are calories burned from steps, cardio, or workouts exact?
No.
Calories attributed to steps, walking, cardio, resistance training, workouts, wearable activity, and other physical activity are estimates.
Actual energy expenditure can vary significantly between people and can also vary according to the device, sensor, wearable, activity type, and calculation method being used.
Can Calmacular use activity or wearable information?
Where supported by your device, operating system, permissions, and connected health services, Calmacular can use compatible activity information to provide additional fitness and nutrition context.
Depending on the available data source, supported information may include items such as:
- Steps
- Workouts
- Heart-rate information
- Active-energy information
- Other compatible activity information
Availability and accuracy depend on the device, data source, permissions, and services you use.
Why is my activity or wearable data not appearing?
First verify that Calmacular has the required permission to access the applicable health or activity information.
Also confirm that:
- The data exists in the original health or activity source
- The required permissions are enabled
- Your device and operating system support the applicable feature
- You are using a current version of Calmacular
If the information still does not appear, contact support and include your device type, operating-system version, Calmacular version, and the type of information that is missing.
Can I edit an incorrect food-log entry?
Where editing is supported for the applicable record, you can correct food-log information so that your nutrition history more accurately reflects what you consumed.
Correcting earlier entries may also affect remaining weekly calorie or macronutrient calculations.
Can I save my own foods?
Yes. Calmacular includes a personal food library that can contain foods you create, edit, scan, or save for future use.
Supported foods may include nutrition information, serving information, and different measurement relationships where available.
Why did my new account already have foods in the food library?
Eligible new accounts may receive a starter food library when the account is initialized.
Starter foods are copied into your own personal food library. After that copy is created, your library is independent.
If you edit or delete one of those foods, your change does not alter another user's food library.
Are foods I create or scan shared with other users?
No. Foods in your personal Calmacular food library are associated with your own application data.
Foods you create, edit, or obtain through supported barcode or third-party food lookup features are not automatically added to another user's personal food library.
Can I scan food barcodes?
Where barcode lookup is supported, Calmacular can use barcode information to help identify packaged foods and retrieve available nutrition information from supported food-data sources.
Third-party food information may contain errors, omissions, outdated values, or information that differs from the product you have.
When accuracy is important, compare the information in Calmacular with the nutrition label on the actual product.
Why are nutrition values not always identical to a food label?
Nutrition information can vary because of:
- Different manufacturers
- Different product versions
- Serving-size differences
- Preparation methods
- Restaurant variation
- Food-database differences
- Rounding on nutrition labels
- Outdated third-party information
Verify information against the product label or another reliable source when exact values are important to you.
What are workout programs?
Workout programs allow you to save reusable resistance-training workouts instead of recreating the same session every time you train.
A program can contain exercises, sets, rep ranges, rest prescriptions, and other supported workout information.
When a workout begins, the session records the applicable workout information so that the workout you actually perform can remain part of your history even if the saved program is edited later.
How does Calmacular use my previous workout performance?
Calmacular can use relevant completed workout history to help prepare future workout targets.
The app is designed to keep workout history connected to the appropriate exercise, workout context, exercise occurrence, and set rather than blindly copying values from any workout that happened to contain the same exercise.
When mesocycle progression applies, relevant history from the current mesocycle can take priority over unrelated workout history.
Historical performance may also be treated as a reference rather than direct progression when the workout prescription has changed substantially.
Can an exercise have different rep ranges for different sets?
Yes. Current Calmacular workout programming supports individual set prescriptions, including per-set rep ranges where configured.
This allows one exercise to contain sets with different intended repetition ranges rather than requiring every set in the exercise to use exactly the same range.
Does Calmacular support advanced training techniques?
Calmacular supports advanced workout methods and set techniques in addition to ordinary straight-set training.
Depending on the workout configuration, this can include supported structures such as supersets, circuits, tempo-based work, pyramids, and other available techniques.
Technique information belongs to the applicable workout prescription and is preserved with the workout session where supported.
Will a technique from another workout automatically be copied into my program?
Not simply because the other workout contains the same exercise.
Calmacular is designed to distinguish between historical performance information and the current workout's prescription.
Historical weight or repetition information may sometimes provide useful performance context, but an unrelated workout should not silently change the technique prescription of another workout program.
What is a mesocycle?
A mesocycle is a multi-week training plan that organizes workout programs across a defined period.
Calmacular can schedule mesocycle workouts by actual day of the week and track the progress of the current training cycle.
Depending on the plan and current day, the Mesocycles area can provide information about:
- The current training week
- Today's scheduled workout or rest day
- Completed scheduled workouts
- Remaining scheduled workouts
- Elapsed and remaining cycle time
- Workout targets and other supported planning information
What happens if I edit a mesocycle after it has started?
Calmacular is designed to protect workouts and history that have already started or been completed while still allowing appropriate future training information to be changed.
A workout that has already started preserves its applicable session information so that later program or mesocycle editing does not rewrite the workout underneath you.
Can I customize the exercise library?
Calmacular supports exercise-library customization so that your available exercises can better match the way you train.
Some exercise information may be retained or archived rather than destructively removed when that exercise is already referenced by historical workout data.
This helps preserve the integrity of past workouts.
Does Calmacular save my data to the cloud?
Supported account information can be synchronized using Calmacular's cloud services when you are signed in and synchronization is available.
Depending on the type of information, synchronized data may include items such as:
- Foods and nutrition information
- Body-weight records
- Workout programs
- Workout sessions and sets
- Exercise-related information
- Mesocycle information
- Settings
- Other supported account data
Not every temporary, device-generated, cached, or third-party record should be assumed to synchronize through Calmacular.
What happens when I sign in on a new or replacement device?
Supported information that was successfully synchronized to your Calmacular account may be restored when you sign in on another compatible device.
Information that existed only on the previous device and was never successfully synchronized may not be recoverable from the cloud.
Allow cloud synchronization to complete before assuming that information is missing.
Why does cloud synchronization require an internet connection?
Cloud synchronization requires communication with Calmacular's cloud services.
If your device is offline or the applicable cloud service is temporarily unavailable, synchronization may be delayed until communication can occur successfully.
Is Calmacular medical advice?
No.
Calmacular provides fitness, nutrition, workout, activity-tracking, calculation, planning, and informational tools.
It does not diagnose medical conditions, provide medical treatment, or replace professional medical advice.
What should I do if I believe a calorie, macro, activity, or weight calculation is wrong?
Contact support and explain:
- What Calmacular displayed
- What you expected it to display
- The date or week affected
- The settings or goals involved
- Any recent food, activity, or body-weight entries that may be relevant
- Whether the issue happens repeatedly
Screenshots are helpful when available.
What should I do if a workout or progression target looks wrong?
When reporting a workout-related problem, include as much of the following information as possible:
- The workout-program name
- Whether the workout is standalone or part of a mesocycle
- The mesocycle week, if applicable
- The exercise involved
- The exercise's position in the workout if it appears more than once
- The affected set number
- The target weight, reps, rep range, or technique shown
- What you expected the target to be
- The previous workout you believe should have been used
- Screenshots where helpful
These details can make progression and workout-history issues much easier to investigate.
What should I include when reporting a bug?
When possible, include:
- Your device type
- Your operating-system version
- Your Calmacular app version
- A clear description of the problem
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened
- The steps needed to reproduce the problem
- Any error message displayed
- Screenshots if relevant

If Calmacular provides an in-app problem-reporting option in your version, information submitted through that feature may also help diagnose the issue.
Never include your password or authentication codes in a bug report.
What should I do if I cannot sign in?
First confirm that you are using the correct sign-in information and the most recent version of Calmacular available for your device.
If the problem continues, contact support and include:
- The email address associated with your account, if applicable
- Your device type
- Your operating-system version
- Your Calmacular version

How do I manage my account?
Visit the Calmacular Account Management page for information about account settings, cloud synchronization, sign-in issues, health permissions, individual records, and other account-related topics.
How do I delete my account?
Visit the Delete Your Calmacular Account page for account and data-deletion instructions.
Does signing out delete my account?
No.
Signing out ends the signed-in session on that device. It does not by itself request deletion of your Calmacular account or cloud-stored account information.
Does deleting the app delete my account?
No. Uninstalling Calmacular should not be treated as an account-deletion request.
Removing the application may remove information stored only on that device, depending on the operating system, but it does not necessarily delete your Calmacular account or information already stored in cloud services.
If you want your account and associated account data deleted, use the process described on the Delete Your Calmacular Account page.
Does removing health or activity permission delete my data?
Not necessarily.
Revoking a permission can prevent or limit Calmacular's future access to that source, but it does not automatically delete your Calmacular account or necessarily remove information that was previously imported or stored.
Can I delete individual information without deleting my account?
Yes, where editing or deletion is supported for the applicable record.
Individual information such as food-log records, foods, body-weight entries, workout information, programs, mesocycle information, and other user-created records may be manageable directly within the appropriate area of Calmacular.
Some information may be archived or handled differently when necessary to preserve relationships with historical data.
